"The Underground Lawyer"

The Constitution--like the Magna Carta, the works of Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman and George Washington--has gone the way of the Holy Scriptures: people worship it but they do not read it. A similar phenomenon occurs with the rest of the developing body of the law: people talk about it and express their opinions, but seldom read it in print, or watch it being interpreted in court...

There are good lawyers and bad lawyers, good judges and bad judges, good laws and bad laws, honesty and dishonesty. When you practice law, you form opinions.

Our American heritage is to hate slavery, plundering and taxation. Our heritage is to distrust government and judges, to demand our historic common law rights of jury nullification of bad government laws. Now, however--like sheep herded to the slaughterhouse--Americans pray to judges, worship laws that steal from workers and give to plunderers and let politicians tell them how to live, how to die and how to pray. Our system returns murderers and rapists to the streets while jailing people who file tax returns late. Our government pays farmers not to grow food, and then takes their farms away in the name of bank and government-created inflationary debt.

In this topsy-turvy... world, a man who calls for public redress of his grievance after reading the First Amendment to the Constitution may be jailed, and those responsible for his jailing are given lifetime pensions which equal their income after 20 years on the job...

Our politicians were once part-time patriots who came to Congress a short time each year. Now they live in the capital and commute home on jets we pay for. They are full-time government employees. Each Congressman hires more helpers than the entire executive staff under George Washington. They spend mega-millions on beautiful monuments to their worthlessness, with extensive senatorial privileges that would have made the Roman senators blush. We free sovereign citizens are called upon to work for a quarter of each year to pay for plush living and expensive toys for these Washington lords.

REMEMBER:
Bastiat's warning that law is force; Lincoln's admonition that the love of free government money is a danger greater than slavery; and Jefferson's reminder that government is the enemy of freedom. All are forgotten slogans!

The new official language of the monstrous bureaucracy and the legal system is Orwell's 1984 "double-speak" Our legislators smile benignly on laws too complicated to understand. Judges interpret laws that make no sense because the people who voted for them didn't read them, and the various tacked-on provisions, known as riders, often conflict.

Moses and Socrates would roll over in their graves if they could see our current system in which juries are not sworn to obey the Constitution or moral law, but rather they are told to do only as the judge orders them! Who is the judge? A mere politician.

The jury system was intended to be a veto against government suppression and authority, and unclear laws of the king...

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. You might get into more trouble knowing something, than not knowing anything at all. The alternative could be slavery.

Justice Learned Hand eloquently declared, "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it."*
